Volunteer Registration

The Girls on the Run 5K is a unique and moving event, highlighting that the finish line is just the beginning! The event is designed to celebrate our Girls on the Run participants' dedication to achieving their goals and activating their limitless potential. Hundred of girls come together from across the Southern Tier to line up at the starting line, each with a #1 race bib. The 5K volunteers not only help to make the event possible, but make it a special, empowering day for all involved. The time commitment for opportunities range from 15 minutes to 4 hours, but the experience and memories they provide are PRICELESS!

Family Festival-Happy Hair Station--8:30 AM

We have fabulous stylists who will make our girls' hair shine, but they'll need a little help to keep things happy and organized since their hands will be full.

Family Festival-Cheer Station

What is a race without motivational signs held by our loved ones along the way? Help spectators create GOTR-ific signs, and amplify the GOTR spirit of positivity.

Family Festival-Body Art--8:30 AM

Show us your inner artist! We'll need a few volunteers to help paint the faces of our girls and put on colorful temporary GOTR tattoos to show their team spirit!

Each Running Buddy is paired with a girl for one practice plus the final event – the Girls on the Run 5k – for a total commitment of two times (5K Practice & Actualy 5K Celebration). This adult runs by her side, encouraging her to do her best while also recognizing and respecting her limits. Running must be 16+. Become a Running Buddy today!

Assist participants in getting to the correct areas of the event for packet pick up, registration, restrooms, etc. Volunteers must be assertive and be able to give direction.

Equipment and Vendor Set-Up--6:30 AM

Rise and shine! We need help setting up tables, refreshments, and helping our vendors get situated. This may require some heavy lifting, but we promise you'll be working as a team.

Clean Up Crew

Let's leave the field as neat and clean as we found it. We'll need lots of volunteers to help us break-down and clean up. Following the Race, all materials will be broken down and loaded on trucks for return and storage. Volunteers will break-down tables, tents, chairs, trash cans and banners. This activity may require some heavy lifting.

Course Set Up and Decorations

Our course needs to be GOTR-ized from start to finish. We'll need your help marking the course, writing inspirational words in chalk along the way, and helping decorate our finish line.
